Obituary for James Jones
Mr. James “Roy” Jones, age 77, of Almar Rd. Hartwell, GA, entered in to eternal rest at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
He was born December 10, 1939 in Hart County, GA. to the late Hollis Jones and Mattie Nell Evans Jones. He was retired having worked for 42 years at Tenneco Automotive in maintenance. He was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church and Hartwell Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Richardson Jones; children, James (Debbie) Jones of Dewy Rose, Joe (Tammy) Jones of Hartwell, Tim (Lesha) Jones of Canon, Wanda (Max) McCollum of Hartwell; Siblings, Bill Jones of NC, TJ Jones of Starr, SC, Ruby Donald of Hartwell, Sara Jennings and Susie Vanfossen of Hartwell; Grandchildren, Heather Jones, Jessica Breneman, Grant Jones (Kara),Trae Jones (Kristen), Ashley Dooley (Corey), Rebecca Barrow (Justin), Samantha Jones, Kimberley Ayers (Daniel), Zach Jones, Ashton Jones, Leland Jones, Hannah Jordan, Katie McCollum, Eli Jones and Ethan Jones, great-grandchildren, Kirkland Jones, Johnny Jones, Grantlee Jones, Roy Jones, Truett Jones, Zoe Jones, Natalie Dooley and Kayde Barrow. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, F.C. Jones, Robert Jones, Grace Vaughn, Talmadge Jones, John Henry Jones and Martha Jones.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Roy Jones will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Two o’clock p.m. at River of Life Church in Hartwell. Rev. Michelle May, Rev. Ken Buffington and Mr. Fred Greenway will officiate. Burial will follow at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, 1473 Liberty Hill Church Road, Hartwell, Ga., 30643 or River of Life Church, 3966 Elberton Highway, Hartwell, Ga. 30643
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-9 p.m.
The family will be at the home, 1098 Almar Road in Hartwell.
Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the Jones family.
