Obituary for James "Jim" Burbick
Mr. James "Jim" Burbick, age 83 of 24 Burbick Lane, Hartwell, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home.
He was born June 30, 1934 in Lisbon, OH to the late Wendell H. Burbick and Hilda Weaver Burbick. Jim was a former accountant with the Singer Company and a retired poultry farmer. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. He was a member of the Antique Car Club of America, Classic Chevy Cars Member, and was a founding member of Nancy Hart Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is survived by; his son, David Burbick and his wife, Christina of Hartwell, Ga., sister, Ellen Law of Florida. Grandchildren, Alainna Burbick, Donald Stapler, Jr., Lamar Stapler, James Stapler and Vincent Duey and seven great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Olivia Evans Burbick daughter, Dana Olivia Burbick and sister, Mary Ann Scaia.
Funeral services for Mr. Burbick will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Eleven o'clock a.m. from the sanctuary of Sardis Baptist Church. Dr. Dan Vincent and Rev. John Silver will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. The family will be at the home of David Burbick, 2969 Cokesbury Highway in Hartwell.
